Uugh Muggle trips and poor connections

I had to gout of town for work and while I was sure I would have plenty of time for posting and snitch searching the Internet connection at the hotel was poor and I couldn't stay on long enough to save what I was typing. I had to wait until I got back to the office to have a stable connection. I hope everyone had fun with this round of quidditch.

Hufflepuff Knit along and Duel Status

I have signed on to knit the Dream Swatch Head Wrap and while it isn't onthe needles yet I do have the yarn picked out. I have a hank of Schaefer Yarn's Laurel in the Empress Wu Zhao colorway that is just beautiful. I have been knitting like crazy lately between UFOs that I am tring to complete and Duel Club knitting! I thought for sure that I was a gonner whe I found out the I would be dueling with Cassandra Grubbly Plank this time. We both finished our hats on the same day but she beat me to the owlry. Maybe her owl will get lost on its way here....
Oh well, I was surprised to have made it to round three.

I received my package from the Fabulous Patonga Wigworthy! She included not only a hand knit bag, but also a large tote in great fabric. A set of Lantern Moon Sox Sticks that I have been coveting, a snitch kit, folding scissors, retractable tape measure, tapestry needles, a clip on light and the perfect pattern for the yarn she sent! The best part was the cool row counter bracelet and matching stitch markers. It will be my first time doing socks with two colors so I am looking forward to the challenge.

For now they're bare and full of air, dead flies and bits of fluff. So teach us things worth knowing. Bring back what we've forgot. The First Week at Hogwarts

This has been such an exciting week! I feel so overwhelmed. Being muggleborn means that everything is strange and new here. My pre-classes shopping trip rewarded me with the most fabulous wand! I am still looking for just the right broomstick, one can't be too picky!
The beginning of term feast was the best thing ever! Pasties and puddings and treacle, oh my! I was a nervous wreck about the sorting ceremony, watching all the others try on that hat and to see how everyone cheered at the outcome... What a relief to be chosen for Gryffindor! Though to be honest, all the houses are full of fabulous people! I am meeting so many new friends, and the knitting group I have joined is bound to bring even more friends to the circle.
The year looks so promising I don't know what I was worried about!
